The Annual Meeting of the European Radiation Dosimetry (EURADOS) group will take place at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Bucharest, Romania, from the 24-27 February 2025. EURADOS is a non-profit association for promoting research and development and European cooperation in the field of the dosimetry of ionising radiation.
Its aims are to:
To this end, its network includes experts, reference and research laboratories, and dosimetry services. This enables appropriate specialist groups to be formed to solve problems or promote research identified within EURADOS or upon request from external bodies.
The annual meeting combines networking with scientific presentations, and gives a central role for working group activities. During the event attendees will be able to exchange experiences, learn and discover new scientific work, network with peers, and set up actions to improve and harmonise dosimetry in all applications.
As part of the schedule, Working Group 3 (WG3) covers Environmental Dosimetry. The aim of WG3 is to provide information about the correct measurement of ambient dose and dose rate and radioactivity concentrations for different scenarios such as routinary emissions from nuclear installations, nuclear emergencies with local impact and nuclear disaster with transboundary implications, and also natural radioactivity scenarios such as radon dosimetry based on activity concentration measurements.
As part of WG3, Task Groups are formed and of particular interest is SG3 which focuses on “Radon in Metrology and Field Measurements”. SG3 was formed to:
EURADOS is a network of 83 European institutions (voting members) and more than 650 scientists (associate members). To register for the annual meeting, click here.
